1 Timothy 4:7b-10
“…Instead, train yourself to be godly. ‘Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.’ This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it. This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers.”
As I read this verse the other day it really hit me right where I was at. I really feel like this is why I am doing the Darfur Diet, because I am training for godliness. I have been able to live on this amount of food in order to train for wrestling, why not for God? I know that training that is hard only makes is stronger and more able to accomplish our goals. That is my hope for this Lenten season.
